Privacy Policy

KodyMatch is an online matchmaking and relationship community that helps adults discover compatible people, chat, call, take part in guided conversations and community discussions, and send gifts. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it, how it may be shared, how long it is kept and the choices you have.

It applies to visitors to https://match.kodynex.net, account holders, community participants, and users of the KodyMatch web app and the KodyMatch Android app. KodyMatch is software developed and operated by Kodynex Solutions ("Kodynex Solutions", "we", "us").

Account and sign-in data: your email address, a hashed password if you sign up with email, email verification status, sign-in sessions and devices (device name, browser, approximate sign-in time), and security records such as failed sign-in attempts. If you sign in with Google, the Google data described in section 3.

Dating profile information: display name, date of birth (used to show your age and enforce the 18+ rule), gender, who you are interested in, bio, job title, height, country, city, zodiac sign (optional), interests, hobbies, music taste, prompt answers, relationship goal, and your "Looking for" preferences (preferred body type, complexion and height, and an optional short note). Fields other than those needed to create a profile are optional.

Photos you upload to your profile, and the moderation status of each photo.

Location: the country and city you enter. If you press "Use current location" (or allow location in Discover), your browser or device shares its coordinates and their accuracy, which we save to calculate distances. To fill in your country and city, those coordinates are sent from your browser to BigDataCloud's reverse-geocoding service. Location is only read when you start that action; we do not track your location in the background.

Discovery and matching preferences: age range, maximum distance, countries you want to date from (Premium), and your likes, passes, matches, blocks and reports.

Messages and interactions: chat messages and their read status, gifts and money requests in chat, call history (who called whom, when, and for how long), connection-guide answers, community posts, comments and reactions, and safety reports.

Wallet and payment information: coin balance and point transactions, purchases (plan or coin pack, amount, currency, payment reference and status), gift cards, and, for creators who request payouts, legal name and a masked payout destination. Card and mobile-money payments are handled by Paystack; KodyMatch does not see or store full card numbers or CVVs.

Notifications: your notification preferences and, if you allow browser push notifications, the push subscription your browser creates.

Technical information: IP address used for security and rate limiting, browser user agent, diagnostic logs, and our own first-party visit measurement (country of the connection, pages opened, sign-up/sign-in clicks and campaign labels such as utm_source), which does not store IP addresses.

If you choose "Continue with Google", KodyMatch requests only the standard sign-in scopes openid, email and profile. From Google we receive your Google account's unique identifier, email address, whether that email is verified, your name and given name, and the address of your Google profile picture.

We use this information only to create your KodyMatch account or sign you in, link the sign-in to the right account, avoid duplicate accounts, and pre-fill your name. We store the Google account identifier and your email address with your account. We do not use your Google profile picture as a dating profile photo and do not store it. We do not keep Google access tokens or refresh tokens after sign-in; Google is used for authentication only.

Connecting Google to KodyMatch does not give us access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, Google Contacts, Google Calendar or any other Google service data.

KodyMatch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or transfer it to others except as needed to provide the sign-in feature, for security, or as required by law, and no person reads it except where necessary for security, legal compliance or with your consent.

We use information to: (1) create, authenticate, administer and protect accounts; (2) display dating profiles and let members discover and connect with one another; (3) rank and filter discovery using your profile details, preferences, distance and relationship goal; (4) deliver chat, calls, connection guides, community posts and notifications; (5) respond to support requests, review reports, investigate abuse, enforce our rules and promote safety; (6) process purchases, gifts, gift cards, referrals and creator payouts; (7) troubleshoot errors, protect our systems and improve the service; and (8) meet legal obligations.

Private message content is not used for matching or match suggestions.

Discovery and matching use your profile, preferences, distance and relationship goal. Match assistance, where KodyMatch staff help suggest matches after regular discovery options are exhausted, starts only after you give explicit consent on the match-assistance screen, and you can decline it and keep using the rest of the service.

Connection guides (optional guided conversations between two members) use an AI service to write the guide's prompts and replies. The conversation context for that guide — the prompts, your answers and display names — is sent to DeepSeek to generate the guide's next message, and spoken guide sessions use Deepgram and Microsoft Azure AI Speech to convert speech to text and text to speech. Guide transcripts are stored only when flagged for safety review and are deleted after 30 days; guide turn records are deleted after 90 days. We do not send your chat messages, photos or payment data to these AI services.

Other members who are eligible to see you in discovery can see your profile photos, display name, age, city and country, bio, job title, height, interests, hobbies, music, prompts, zodiac sign and relationship goal, and an approximate distance. They never see your exact coordinates, email address, date of birth, Google account details or wallet.

Messages are visible only to the people in that conversation. Community posts and comments are visible to other signed-in members. Your discovery visibility can be set to Public, Incognito or Hidden in Profile → Privacy.

Please avoid sharing home addresses, identity documents, payment details or other sensitive information in your profile, messages or community posts.

Other KodyMatch members: to display your profile, match, chat, call and take part in community features, as described in section 6.

Service providers that process data on our behalf, only as needed for their service: Microsoft Azure (hosting, database, file and photo storage, AI Speech and AI Face), Paystack (payments and payouts), Agora (real-time voice and video calls), Deepgram and DeepSeek (connection-guide voice and AI text, see section 5), BigDataCloud (turning coordinates into country and city), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection on sign-up), our email delivery provider (account and notification emails), a Redis cache provider (temporary caching), and Google (Google Sign-In, and Firebase services used by our Android app).

Safety and legal recipients: where needed to investigate credible threats, address abuse, protect members, respond to lawful requests or meet legal obligations.

A successor organisation, if the service is reorganised or transferred, subject to applicable safeguards and notice.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies or share data with advertising networks.

KodyMatch asks for device or browser permissions only when you start the feature that needs them: camera or photo library to upload photos, microphone and camera for calls and spoken guides, location when you press "Use current location" or enable location in Discover, and notifications if you choose to receive push notifications. You can change these permissions in your browser or device settings at any time; turning one off only affects the related feature.

Identity and liveness verification is used only for creators who request payouts. Before the camera opens we ask for explicit biometric consent. Microsoft Azure AI Face runs the liveness check and compares a still image with your approved profile photos. We do not store liveness video. Liveness and comparison images are deleted 30 days after the final review decision; decision and audit records may be kept for security and legal purposes. Account deletion also schedules this evidence for removal.

Authorised staff and automated checks may review reports, photos, flagged content and relevant technical records to detect prohibited activity, support member safety, investigate complaints and comply with law. Photos are moderated before they are shown in discovery. Blocking someone stops them from contacting you.

Safety features help, but they do not guarantee your safety. Please take ordinary precautions when meeting people in person.

We use browser storage and essential cookies to keep you signed in and secure (including the short-lived cookie used during Google sign-in), and to remember preferences such as theme, language and notices you have acknowledged. We also store a random visitor id to measure our own visits, as described in section 2.

We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies. You can clear browser storage in your browser settings; doing so may sign you out and reset preferences.

KodyMatch data is stored on Microsoft Azure: account and profile data in Azure SQL Database, and photos and files in Azure Blob Storage. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and passwords are stored only as salted hashes. Access to production data is restricted to authorised personnel.

No internet service can promise absolute security. Messages are protected in transit and at rest by our providers, but they are not end-to-end encrypted.

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where Microsoft Azure and our other providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual commitments with those providers.

We keep information while your account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes in this policy. Specifically: after you delete your account it is hidden immediately and removed 30 days later; visit-measurement records are deleted after 90 days; flagged guide transcripts after 30 days and guide turn records after 90 days; identity-verification images 30 days after the review decision; security audit records for up to 365 days; and financial records of purchases, gift cards and payouts for up to 7 years where accounting and anti-fraud law requires.

Data may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period until those backups expire. When information is no longer needed it is deleted or de-identified, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, download or delete your personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. You can edit most profile fields and your visibility settings directly in the app.

To make a request, contact us at michael@kodynex.net. We may need to verify your identity first. Withdrawing consent for an optional feature (such as location, match assistance or biometric verification) applies to future processing.

You can delete your account at any time in the app: Profile → Privacy → Delete account. Deletion takes effect immediately: you are signed out everywhere and hidden from discovery and chat, and the account and its data are permanently removed 30 days later. Signing back in during those 30 days cancels the deletion. You can also request deletion by emailing michael@kodynex.net.

Removing KodyMatch's access in your Google Account settings (https://myaccount.google.com/permissions) stops future Google sign-ins but does not delete your KodyMatch account; use the in-app deletion above to delete your data.

KodyMatch is only for adults aged 18 or older. Your date of birth is checked when you create your profile and accounts under 18 cannot complete sign-up. If we learn that someone under 18 has registered, we disable the account and delete their data as required by law.

We may update this policy when the service, the law or our data practices change. We will publish the new version on this page with a new effective date and give additional notice, or ask for consent where required — in particular before any change to how we use information received through Google Sign-In.
